Where we stayed in Fremantle with lemons in trees.

Yesterday we got up at 7 o'clock in the morning and got dressed before saying goodbye to Kate, Damien, Tobyn and Hannah then jumping into a taxi and driving to the airport. Then at 10:05  we boarded the plane to Sydney. When we were on it I did some homework, wrote in my diary and watched a film (If I Stay).

After that we got in another taxi to Newtown in Sydney (not Sydney in Rowan Class). We are staying at a lady named Jan's house. It is lovely but there are loads of lorrikeets outside our window (the ones we fed in KL)
which squawk loudly.  Mum & Dad have a really snuggly blanket that they use when they sleep.


Then we walked to a Greek restaurant to eat. Mum had something called quail and Dad had something called barramundi then I had giouvetsi to eat.  Mum and Dad had retsina to drink (these are some pics of what happened).

Rottness Island and Clancy's

On Thursday we got on a Rottness express boat to Rottness Island. It took about an hour from Fremantle to Rottness. Then we hired bikes, flippers and snorkel gear to use and got some fresh water to drink. Then we rode all the way to Little Salmon Bay which took over an hour to do. We tried to go snorkelling in the sea but it was too choppy so we played in the sand and sea. It was even more fun than we had expected. Then we cycled on to the next beach called Salmon Bay which had really white sand. 

                                       

Next we rode back to the settlement and in that time we saw 2 quokkas (that look like mini kangaroos). When we got back to the settlement Mum said I did so well riding the bike I deserved a Coke which is unusual because she never normally lets me have it.

   

Later that day we got back on the boat and it was even more choppy than the beach. Next we walked to a fish and chip place called Clancy's. It was delicious, I had cod and chips. We took a picture of us all wearing moustaches just for fun - I know the grey one looks stupid on Mum. Then we each had an ice cream (except dad), I had Freo Delight it was yummy.

Yesterday we got up and dressed then drove to Leighton Beach. Then did a bit of swimming in the refreshing sea for a few hours.

Next we drove home and had a shower and drove to Fremantle to look around the town. We went to and aboriginal art centre www.japingka.com.au (it was fun), the Maritime Museum where I did a treasure trail and saw a time ball and cannon fire - this told people at sea it was 1 in the afternoon. We even went to the prison and I had a try in the stocks. All they had to sleep on was hay and a blanket and they had bread to eat. Then we had lunch and went to a place called Little Creatures to have a drink.

                 

Then me and Hannah went out to the movies.We went to see Paper Planes about a boy who makes a paper aeroplane that goes a long way, then he goes to Tokyo and takes part in the Paper Plane World Championships and he wins. I had salted popcorn and an ice-cream at the movies. We had an Italian dinner then walked to the arcade to play the dance game and take some pictures.

Yesterday we woke up about 6:00 in the morning in Kuala Lumpur, just as the Winters  got up in the morning to go to work or school. We got a taxi to the Airport. 

Then we went through security and walked all the way to the plane without stopping to look at anything (not, because we stopped to look at coffee that mum wanted).  

Then we jumped on the plane and got going in a jiffy, it took about 5 hours and then a 40 min drive to Kate, Hannah, Tobyn and Damian's house. It was about 40 degrees Celsius without even being in a car, just out in the open, and in the car it was in my opinion double that. Anyways we got there and met them all (Damien, Tobyn, Hannah) they are all very nice. 

Then when Damien came home from work we put on a bbq with some lamb on it, it  smelt very good when we tasted it with salad, spicy lentil salad  and SUDDENLY the lights went out so we had to eat in the dark. When I was eating I accidentally choked on the lamb which I surprised everyone with so they all stared at me with their wide different coloured eyes (everyone in the room has amazing coloured eyes). 

When we had all finished we had pudding which was lemon and lime tarts. They were sooooo delicious and it bunched up into one little circle that tasted amazing. We went walking out to the park because the aircon was not working and it was so hot in the house and we got some mosquito bites and Hannah got a wasp bite. 

Then just as we were walking back the lights came on and dad went to sleep while the rest of us ate Galaxy Minstrels!

last day in Kuala Lumpur

First of all this is our firefly picture. 

Today is our last full day in Kuala Lumpur and this is what we did. This morning we got on a train to the Batu Caves, it was quite a long way to get there but we got there in the end after a lot of stations and we had to stop quite a lot.

Then when we got there we walked up some steps but we had to take our shoes off (there weren't that many steps to go up, only about 10 of them)and there was a temple at the top. When we had done that we walked over to the statue (Lord Murugan) and just as we did that loads of pigeons flew into the air, altogether it looked amazing.

Then we walked up about 200 steps not including the ones when you get inside the caves. We saw some monkeys who stole somebody's necklace "yum!yum!" he says as he's munching.

Then we walked on to the famous cave. We could see the sky when  we were in the cave. We had just got to the top of the big steps when dad started to feel sick so we went inside the cave (here it is in the picture opposite you)



Then we walked back down to the bottom of the steps and when dad got down I clapped for being so brave in a very high environment because he is afraid of heights.

Then we got on a train to KL central station to get on another train to Chinatown where we had lunch of noodles and bought me some new sunglasses. Then we went looking for a place to do a manicure and we found one that did me and mum for 75 Ringits (£15).

Saturday and Sunday in KL

Last night they came home at about 4 o'clock then we went to dinner and had a banana leaf curry - it was delicious. Next we walked to the film store and bought a few (Theory of Everything, Into the Woods etc) then we watched them both and it was amazing until about 20 minutes into the Theory of Everything the sound went completely. So we all went to bed.

The next morning mum and dad got up and drove to the food market then when they got back Bea woke me up. First we had breakfast of fruit (jack fruit, water melon, water apple, mango, papaya and pineapple). I liked the water apple even though it was a bit sour - I tasted it and it was nice.

Then we got in the car and drove to a place that sold roti canai with daal. The roti is a cross between a pancake and bread and you dip it into daal and taste it. I had it with orange juice. It was delicious as well.

Next we got in a cab and got in a lift that took a very long time to get to the top of Menara Tower. We could see AAAALLLL of Kuala Lumpur and the Twin Towers (Petronas Towers). There were a lot of patches of green. Then we bought a fridge magnet that had pictures of both of them and we got on a train to Bangsar then a taxi to where we're staying. When we got home we decided to go swimming with Bea and Amelia. It was so nice and refreshing.

At about 4 we got into the car and drove to Kuala Selangor and had a fishy dinner. I particularly liked the rice and the fish (not really the squid).

Then we had a trip to the firefly reserve and got on a boat and an amazing time looking at all the fireflies. One of them came onto the boat and flew under Bea's butt so she sat on it. It was so funny but it didn't die. That was when the boat went right into the bush and all the fireflies came out. Then there was a call for prayer which made it even more amazing.

Today we had another roti canai. It was even more yummy. Then we got into the Winter's car and drove to the Bird Park. We saw an ostrich running towards us.

 

We even got to feed the fish. The best part was when we got to feed the parrots. It was so funny. One of them jumped on me.

We came back and a Tesco delivery arrived then we went to the swimming pool and mum read a book on her kindle, dad's goggles broke and I did some diving. Then I started my homework on the Indus Valley and Ancient Sumer Civilisation. The discovered writing and numbers and wheels.

There was a massive thunder storm with some lightening and quite a lot of rain but me and Amelia went out to the pool and the park to play  while the adults went to China Town.

We are going to tell you what happens tomorrow tomorrow!!!

Our trip to Kuala Lumpur

Today we arrived after a very long plane ride (about 12hrs 25 mins long). We had chairs that go back & tvs on the back of the chairs (with remotes so you could play games watch films etc) so much fun. The air hostesses wore very nice costumes which were green with flowers on them. The food was very good we had 2 meals which were both quite good I suppose the desert was amazing and I slept very well.

It is so hot/boiling out here it is so annoying when you have to walk mostly everywhere. I think its about 32 degrees Celsius, I can’t believe it’s that h0t. We are staying in a lovely apartment in Bangsar with the Winters (Anne, Maisy, Amelia, Bea and Ben/Mr Winter and their dog Lotta). We haven’t seen them today because they have to get up early every weekday because Anne and Ben  are teachers then Amelia and Maisy have to get on their school bus very early  and Bea goes with Anne and Ben. 

Our trip to Polridmouth

This weekend we visited a place in Cornwall called Polridmouth with my Granny, her friend Hilary & my cousin Arthur. We all had a great time. We stayed in a cottage by the sea with lots of coastal paths. One of them was a path to a lighthouse. The other was another 2 paths to the nearest town called Fowey. There was lots of delicious food to eat especially the Roast Lamb.

We went on a walk to the lighthouse on Sunday and on the way back my Granny was saying "I am going to stay on this part of the grass because it seems to not be as slippery as the path". Just as she had said that she slipped and landed on her BUM! LOL!!!
