San Fran Thursday

This is going to be a busy blog! I'll put up pictures later today.

I feel very happy being here in San Francisco because it is not too crowded but it is spacious and there are lots of popular landmarks including The Bay Bridge, Golden Gate Bridge.

On Thursday we woke up at 7.30am and we drove to the Golden Gate Bridge because we had to get a parking space because there are only 26 parking spots right beside the bridge. We made it because there were only 2 people parked there. People jump off it and end their lives. We got half way across and I really liked it because it wasn’t that busy with people walking and the people that were walking were going quite slowly so we could get back to the gift shop before there was a stampede.

 

As we walked on the roads there were bumps and when someone drove over the bump it went ba-bum, ba-bum. The bikes were on the same path as us but a different side. When we had got back and bought things from the gift shop there was a helicopter that was flying across the bridge and going in between the two side cables. On the first day it had been open people could only walk across it because there weren’t any cars and there were so many people that the bridge shook from side to side.

Next we went to have coffee and hot chocolate. We were supposed to have it near the GGB but the café was closed so we had to go to North Beach which is the quite Italian place near Union Square. After coffee we walked to the church that Marilyn Monroe and Joe Dimaggio got married in. We stood infront of it and did silly pictures like pretending to be them.

Then we went to the bookshop and saw some books that I thought I might like to put on my kindle. We walked back to where we had kept the car and drove to Lombard Street which is the steepest road in San Francisco and they had to put curves in because it is too hard to get up or down.

Then we went to Union Square and went clothes shopping in Zara. Mum didn’t let me buy anything because she said that we would be shopping in New York. Louise was so happy because she never really gets to go clothes shopping because her son Tom always goes and touches it when he’s not supposed to. She bought some tops and jeans and a skirt and they looked very nice and were for her night out on Saturday.

We went to the Cheesecake Factory above Macys which is somewhere where they film the Big Bang Theory but it was not like in the BBT. The differences are they don’t have the same uniform and there are loads of different cheesecakes. I looked for the Big Boy Burger but it wasn’t there so I had tomato basil pasta which was very nice. I got a cheesecake to go and it was very delicious. I ate it with whipped cream and a fork. We thought that because we had to take some of the pasta home we thought we should take a fork so we stole a fork but then we realised we didn’t need to because our waiter gave it to us. He got the stolen fork out of the bag and gave us a plastic one. Our waiter’s name was Paul.

Next we got on a tram and swang on the outside hanging on to the bars on the outside. When the tram went down a hill it was very fun because it went so fast. The tram was quite crowded and on the way back it was very very crowded.

On the drive back we drove up Twin Peaks which are quite big mountains looking over the whole of San Francisco. The weather was cold and windy up there because we were high up so we took loads of pictures and I took some selfies. Then we jumped back into the car so we could go and pick Annie up from her friend’s house.

We picked up Annie and then we drove home to Tom and Dan and Dan made us pizza. It was a very good day and I really liked it.
