Centre of Sydney

Today for breakfast we had Pastizzi which I don't really like - they are pastries which have different fillings in the middle of them. I had the chicken and mushroom at first and then I tried the chilli con carne which was a bit too spicy for me. 

We then travelled to the Art Gallery of New South Wales which had an exhibition called Pop to Popism which was very fun. I saw 
lots of collages, some sculptures, some self portraits, some are printed so you could make lots of them in a short time. Pop art should be something that everyone that everyone should be able to understand and enjoy. Some of my favourite things was Marilyn Monroe who was printed in all different colours by Andy Warhol as well as the kids area where you could play twister with Marilyn Monroe heads and make a Pop Art picture of your own.

After that we had lunch at the Opera House Kitchen and I had fish and chips which was yummy and filled me up quite quickly. When we had finished that we decided to go on the Opera House Tour which told me lots of interesting facts. When you are standing away from it it looks like it doesn't have any tiles but it has over 1.5 million of them all over the "sails". Only 4 of them are replaced each year and it gets cleaned by the rain.

We went into the main theatre to hear the rehearsal of some music by a world famous composer called Ludovico Einaudi who does classical music and plays the piano. It sounded like he was playing something from Romeo and Juliet but he wasn't as it was one of the songs he had written himself.

Then we got on a bus to Oxford Street in Sydney where lots of people were going to Moore Park to see 1 Direction which I bet Evie, Kayleigh and Emma would want to go to (and maybe Isla). We did not go because it was fully booked. We even had to stop at a bar to have a coke and schooners of beer (because that is the equivalent of pints here).

We got on a train back to Newtown and went to a pizza place called Gigi - not your pony Isla :-( The pizza was very nice and we still have quite a lot left for breakfast tomorrow.
