Yesterday we woke up quite late because we had been up late as well. Then we had breakfast at a place called the 5 Little Pigs. I had a fresh orange juice and a cheese burger that were both very nice. Mum and dad had croque monsieur which is a piece of toast with cheese on it and ham and it has a cheesy mustardy sauce that they think is very nice but in my opinion it isn't.
After breakfast we went back to the B&B to do some cleaning up from the party the night before so that the people that were staying the night that we left would be able to see how amazing it was. I did the hoovering and sorted out the leaflets whilst everyone else did the rest of the things we had to do. It looked amazing at the end because we had all cleaned it so well.
Next we went to the museum and bought the tickets. I even learnt how to throw a boomerang with a man called Laddie who gave me one and burnt my name into it. When I was throwing it one time we were just mentioning not to do it around people who were tall and I threw it and it nearly hit dad on the head.
When we had bought the boomerang we did a mangrove walk where we saw some crabs that had their own little holes to go into when they wanted to. There were little roots that when the tide is out they breath but we thought that they were some new trees that were growing. Actually what happens with the new trees is that the pods shoot on the tree then drop and when the tide comes in they float away and grow roots. We saw some food webs on the walk that were quite interesting because they showed you what it was like if you were a fish living in the wild and eating. There are different parts of the food chain, the first one is the producer (mangrove leaves or detritus from this picture) then the next one is the primary consumer (prawns) and the one after that is the secondary consumer (large fish) which I have been learning about in my homework.
After we had finished doing the walk we actually entered the museum which had a boat called the Lady Denman which is a boat built by the Dent family who live in Huskisson. It was a Sydney Ferry until the late 1970s then came home to Huskisson to get repaired and displayed for loads of people to see. It took more than 3 years to get from Sydney to Huskisson even though it is not a very long way. The person who was at the desk said we had to find a chair made out of whale bones and a bell on the side of the boat. So we did it and found them both. The chair was like any normal chair but more fragile. The bell felt old and rusty and if it was broken it would cost a lot of money to buy a new one.
When we got home from the museum we did some swimming in the pool (not mum). Me and dad thought it was quite nice because it was a very small pool and we had it to ourselves except for the dog called Sundae who was barking a lot. Kate was at the doctors seeing if she could get a new asthma pump and seeing if she had broken her toe which she had.
Before we got on our train to Sydney we had an early dinner of the leftover chilli con carne and the cake and the trifle which we did not have in one big go. It was so nice. After that we said goodbye to Steve and drove to the train station. When we arrived there were some girls who were very loud and quite annoying who were going out for the night I expect. When the train got to the station we waved goodbye to Kate and travelled all the way back to Newtown doing the blog and some homework. We had to change trains about 3 times which was tiring. I got to bed at about 11pm because we only arrived at 10.30 that night.
